Testimonials

"Laurence is a master of taking the heart, characters and soul of a book and bringing them to life in a screenplay. No easy feat and yet she makes it look effortless. There's no one else I'd trust my works to. She really understands the bridge between literary and screen."

Sherrilyn Mc Queen (formerly Sherrilyn Kenyon) - New York Times Bestselling Author with 70 million books in print

"Just turned in my first network pitch (a pilot script and a TV series pitch deck) with Laurence's help. Laurence was tough, but patient, diligent and efficient working with me so that I had to work the same way. I feel that I have come so far from where I was. One executive said it was "very good" and it is now being reviewed by a major New York production with global operations. Thank you, Laurence!"

“After taking one of Laurence’s awesome college courses, I decided to continue on with in her 6-week, online course to shape up a new script. With her advice and notes (and that of the students she curated in my group), I wrote a pilot that helped me land a manager at a great company! I wasn’t expecting to seek out representation at all, but her encouragement pushed me to, and I’m so glad I did. I’ll definitely be working with Laurence again soon!”

Ayanna Mehta

"This group got me through lockdown and more. Laurence is insightful, passionate about the craft and a fun voice of reason to be around. She is always encouraging while also telling you the truth of what you need for your project to succeed.

Without this group, I would have probably abandoned screenwriting as...anything in my life. This group instead got me to double-down and work to improve."

Bradford Yurkiw on Facebook

“Laurence taught me the fundamental concepts behind screenwriting and prepared me to launch into a screenwriting career in the industry”

Edgardo Chavez

"I'm an accomplished writer and comedian with a highly creative mind. I have lots of ideas and have written many scripts. But there are moments when I get blocked or overwhelmed trying to get things down on paper. Laurence invests so much in deeply understanding my ideas that when I get stuck, I send her my scripts and ask her to take them to the next level. She knows screenwriting inside and out, so where I create moments, she creates arc. Where I create dialogue, she raises stakes. Where I endow characters, she clarifies their objectives. Where I paint a picture of a story, she paints a conclusion. She's lightning fast and her dialogue is extremely witty. I laugh out loud when I read her edits. When I don't like what a character she writes has done, it's wonderful because it either clarifies what I want to happen in the story, or helps define characters I never could have written from my limited perspective. I can't recommend her more highly. I feel so lucky I found her."

"The bigger the issue, the smaller you write. Remember that. You don’t write about the horrors of war. No. You write about a kid’s burnt socks lying on the road. You pick the smallest manageable part of the big thing, and you work off the resonance."
